Senior US diplomats head to Egypt to discuss humanitarian aid for Gaza

(Reuters) - U.S. Under Secretary of State Uzra Zeya and special envoy for Middle East humanitarian issues David Satterfield will meet with Egyptian and UN officials in Cairo to discuss facilitating humanitarian assistance into Gaza, the State Department said on Wednesday.

Zeya, who focuses on democracy and human rights issues, will first travel to Paris on Nov. 9 where she will represent the United States at an international humanitarian conference on Gaza, the department said in a statement.
