The Seniors Citizens of Ashland have three upcoming day outings.

On Wednesday, June 29 the group is off to Milan and Sandusky.

The first stop of the day will be the Thomas Edison Birthplace Museum and The Milan Museum.

They plan to arrive at Berardi’s Restaurant for any early lunch with lunch choice as follows: Perch Sandwich, 1/2 Herb Roasted Chicken Dinner, Meat Loaf Dinner, 5-0z. Sirloin Dinner, Fettuccini Alfredo w/side salad (No other sides). Please make your lunch choice when making your reservations. You will select sides and a non-alcohol beverage at Berardi’s. Dessert will be at an extra cost, and is not included with the meal.

After lunch the group is off to the Merry-Go-Round Museum to enjoy a guided tour through the merry-go-round history and a ride on the carrousel as we are about to depart.

Friends at the Maritime Museum will be awaiting our arrival to tour their facility and learn some history.

Plans are to make a stop at Toft’s Ice Cream for one of their sweet and flavorful treats!  (This treat is not included in the trip price.)

For this trip the group will depart from the Center at 7:30 a.m. with report/loading time beginning at 7:15 a.m. They plan to arrive back to the Center at approximately 6 p.m.

The cost $98 per person. Includes round-trip motor coach – all admissions – lunch – gratuities. Trip cost does not include dessert at lunch; the stop at Toft’s; or any other items purchased at any of the locations.

Trip fee is due when making your reservation. Reservations begin now and must be made no later than Thursday, June 16.

Trip to Rittman and Wadsworth will be July 30

On Saturday, July 30 the group will be headed to Rittman and Wadsworth.

The first stop of the day will be at Rittman to enjoy a ride on the Speeder Cars, previously used as Railroad Maintenance Cars.

It will be followed by lunch at The Galaxy Restaurant and Event Center (Wadsworth) to enjoy a 1:30 p.m.  buffet of marinated pork loin with gravy and crispy baked chicken, fresh fruit, smashed redskin potatoes and vegetable medley. Buffet also includes freshly baked rolls, fresh brewed coffee, hot tea and iced tea. Dessert is also included with the meal.

After enjoying lunch the group will return to Rittman to enjoy the William J. Robertson Nature Preserve. The Nature Preserve will have a six-passenger golf cart available for those unable to walk but would like to see the preserve.

Trip plan is to depart from the Center at 9:45 a.m. report/loading time beginning at 9:30 a.m. Arrive back to the Center at approximately 7 p.m. Cost is $79 per person. Includes round-trip motor coach, all admissions, buffet lunch, gratuities

Day outing to Titusville and Franklin, Pennsylvania will be Aug. 17

On Wednesday, Aug. 17 the group will travel have an early morning adventure to Titusville and Franklin, Pennsylvania.

Share the fun of train travel and relive our country's oil history as you ride the Oil Creek and Titusville Train "through the valley that changed the world."

Go back in time more than 150 years into the heart of Oil County in vintage cars built by Pullman in 1930. Their main station, Perry Street Station, is an early 1890s vintage freight station.

Enjoy a 3-hour round-trip train ride through scenic Oil Creek State Park while enjoying a box lunch — turkey and cheese sandwich, chips, fruit cup, cookies and a non-alcohol beverage.

Visit the Railway Post Office Car, the only one still in operation in the USA! Be sure to bring your address book - mail a postcard, etc. right on the train.

All mail gets an official USPS OC&T hand stamp! After enjoying the train ride, they group will head to Franklin, PA to the DeBence Antique Music World Museum — a museum whose collection contains more than 100 antique mechanical musical instruments, including music boxes, band organs, player pianos, a nickelodeon piano, as well as a number of other antiques.

Many of the collection's mechanical instruments are rare; a number are among only a few manufactured, and a few are among the last in existence.

Enjoy one of the following dinner selections at Benjamin’s Roadhouse – includes house salad, baked potato & non-alcohol beverage: Honey Mustard Chicken (grilled chicken breast topped w/crispy bacon, fresh mushrooms and honey mustard smothered w/mozzarella and cheddar cheese); Stuffed Icelandic Cod (cod loin filled with a shrimp and crab stuffing); Roadhouse Ribs (tender, fall-off the bone half-rack baby back ribs, slow cooked and seasoned to perfection and basted with their homemade BBQ sauce). Please make your lunch choice when making your reservation.

Reservations begin now and must be made no later than Tuesday, July 5.

No trip refunds made after reservation deadline date. Travel restrictions apply.

Upon arrival at the Center the morning of the bus trip, please park in the parking lot at the front of the building — at the corner of West Tenth Street and Wick Avenue.
