Sense of normalcy returns to Seattle with Seahawks preseason, Storm playoff games and Comic Con

It was busy in Seattle on Thursday night, especially in the downtown area. Fans gathered at Lumen Field for the first pre-season Seahawks game and die-hard comic fans attended the Emerald City Comic Con at the Seattle Convention Center. Over at Climate Pledge Arena, the Seattle Storm took on the Mystics in their first playoff game.

“Back with to Cs it feels too good! It feels great!” Maxx, a Seahawks fan, said.

Jeri Romero was also at Lumen Field to cheer on her team.

“Go hawks! Yup, go hawks!” she said.

Eddie McDougald has been serving up Seattle Dogs for more than 15 years for Seahawks games.

“We’re thankful for the folks coming back and this is it,” McDougald said. “Seahawks Society!” His smile said it all — there is nothing like the first home game of the season.

“It’s great to come back to see our regular fans and say, ‘hey, welcome back, here’s your regular,’” he said.

While the Seahawks game was a top priority for many, Kyle Knight and his family were at Comic Con.

“No brainer this is where we go,” Knight said.

Jerome Stroup felt the same way.

“It’s good to be around fellow nerds like myself. It makes me feel happy in this world to see people that are so excited about their craft,” Stroup said.
