Sephora Wants to Pay You to Be a Beauty Influencer (Even if You’ve Only Got, Like, 4 Followers)

If you’ve ever dreamed of quitting your day job to swatch eye shadows on your forearm, attempt to focus a foundation in your iPhone camera and document it on Instagram (all while getting paid), you’re one step closer to making that a reality.

Sephora just launched its #SephoraSquad program—but what is it, exactly? Yes, it’s a beauty influencer program (ugh), but with a refreshing twist. Here’s how the application website describes it (in their own words):

“#SephoraSquad is a different kind of beauty-influencer program.

“We celebrate the most authentic and inspiring voices in the digital beauty space. We value unique, unfiltered, sorry-not-sorry storytellers, no matter the number of followers they have. That’s why the program offers long-term partnerships—a 2019 paid contract with Sephora—to those who share their beauty truths.

“Ones who shout their triumphs and their struggles.
Ones who’ll try any trend once and not think twice about it.
Ones who leave heart emojis and thoughtful replies.”

A paid contract with Sephora, regardless of your Instagram following (or lack thereof)? We’re into it. Plus, if you’re selected, you’ll get customized perks like free products, peer and professional “influencer coaching,” access to networking events, video opportunities and more.

To apply, all you have to do is link up your Insta online, answer some questions and get your followers (hi, Mom) to put in a good word for you. Applications are being accepted now through March 6, while semifinalists will be announced on March 15, and winners on March 29.

Just think of all the free samples…
