Services announced for deputies killed in crash
Jul. 24—ALBUQUERQUE — The Bernalillo County Sheriff's office has announced funeral service information for three of its members who were killed in a helicopter crash south of Las Vegas, N.M., a week ago.
Lt. Fred Beers' funeral service will be held Wednesday. Undersheriff Larry Koren's services will be Friday and Deputy Michael Levison's will be Aug. 3. All three services will be held at 10 a.m. at The Pit, University Arena, 111 University Ave. SE.
"All services are open to the public, and we encourage anyone and everyone to join us in honoring these incredible men," the sheriff's office tweeted.
The three men, as well as Rescue Specialist Matthew King of Bernalillo County Fire and Rescue, were flying back to Albuquerque the night of July 16 after assisting with fighting the East Mesa fire when their helicopter crashed. All four were killed.
