Jeremy Ruehlemann, a fashion model with North Jersey roots, died at 27.

Ruehlemann was born in Ridgewood and graduated from Mahwah High School, according to his online obituary. He attended Rowan University for three years before moving to Manhattan to pursue a career in fashion.

"Jeremy was studious and an avid reader with a love for philosophy, psychology, religion and a passion for the Harry Potter collection," his obituary said. "Some of his loves were hiking, swimming, soccer, but above all music."

As a model, Ruehlemann worked with designers like Christian Siriano and Tommy Hilfiger. Siriano posted a tribute the late model on his Instagram page.

"This is for Jeremy, the most beautiful man that gave so much love to everyone he met no matter what," Siriano wrote. "He was one of my muses and he always will be. He inspired me and I will love him forever."

Ruehlemann's father, Achim, who lives in Waldwick, told The Daily Mail that his son died of an accidental drug overdose, saying his son had been battling a Percocet addiction.

"Jeremy was such a precious star, loved and cherished by his family," his obituary said. "To know Jeremy wasn't just to love him, it was to be a little bit in love with him."

A visitation for Ruehlemann is being held Friday evening at Burnett & White Funeral Homes in Red Hook, New York.
