Jeff Sessions will seek return to Senate - source
Jeff Sessions, the ousted U.S. Attorney General, will announce a run for his old Senate seat in Alabama on Thursday (November 7).
That's what a Republican official told Reuters on Wednesday (November 6).
Sessions was often the target of President Donald Trump's anger and ridicule for recusing himself from the Russia probe.
He's mainly kept out of the public eye since he was forced out by Trump last November.
But- chasing his old seat will likely put him back into focus.

Sessions was the first U.S. Senator to endorse Trump's 2016 campaign and gave up an office he'd held for two decades to take on the role of Attorney General.
To retake his old job he'll be up against U.S. rep Bradly Byrne ex-Auburn football coach Tommy Tuberville and former state Supreme Court Justice Roy Moore.
Moore lost to a Democrat in the 2017 special election for Sessions' seat, despite backing from Trump.
Moore was defeated amid allegations of decades-old sexual misconduct involving teenage girls.
The Republican source said Sessions comeback bid was the GOP's best chance for a Senate pickup in the 2020 elections.
But what's not clear is how Trump could react.
The president has called choosing Sessions as AG was the 'biggest mistake' of his presidency.
