Set sail with the 39th annual Roncalli Pierside Auction

MANITOWOC - It’s time to pull up anchor, and buoy are we excited!

The 39th annual Roncalli Pierside Auction is returning with twice the fun! This year’s auction will offer both the in-person event at 5:30 p.m. April 29 at Roncalli High School, 2000 Mirro Drive in Manitowoc, AND the opportunity to bid online!

The online portion of the auction will run from noon April 26 to noon May 3 at roncalliauction.givesmart.com. Registering online also will save you time at the in-person event as you already will be assigned a bid number. Registration has opened, and items are available for preview, so head online now!

In addition to the online portion of the auction, plan to sail into the evening of April 29 with our adults-only, in-person event. Admission is free. A coat check also will be available.

The public is welcome to come early, however, for Mass with Fr. Matt Colle, which will begin at 4 p.m. in the Zimmer Auditorium inside the Fine Arts Center.

Parking will be available in the Fine Arts Center lot with overflow parking in the Skana Aluminum lot; shuttle service will be provided courtesy of Brandt Buses, Inc., from 5:30-11:30 p.m. Attendees should enter through the Fine Arts Center as well.

Food, desserts, water, soda, hard seltzer, beer, wine and a specialty drink, the Sail Away with Me Sangria, will be available for purchase, in addition to the variety of items up for bid in both the silent and oral auctions.

The oral auction portion of the evening will be hosted by Candice Giesen, director of development, and John Jagemann, auction emcee. Gregg Schramm will serve as auctioneer.

The Auction Book, which covers items in both the oral and silent auction areas, is available now. The book is available for viewing online by visiting roncallicatholicschools.org/auction.

Among the items you will find in the oral auction is a Razor dune buggy fit for children ages 8 and older. This off-road ride, coming in at item No. 31, will have your child zipping around in no time. Outfitted with a powerful 350-watt motor designed to reach speeds of up to 10 miles per hour, the buggy is fast enough for serious fun, but slow enough that it won't compromise safety. Parents also will appreciate the side roll cage, which creates a barrier between the rider and the outside, and the padded bucket seat, which includes a seatbelt for added security.

If music is more your speed, you’ll also find a Pentatonix – The World Tour package at No. 38 in the oral auction. Since emerging in 2011, Pentatonix has become one of the most innovative, inventive and inimitable vocal groups of all time. Having released several successful albums and earning nominations for Grammys, Emmys and Billboard Music awards, the group recently finished its most successful Christmas tour ever and received a Hollywood Walk of Fame star. This North American tour includes special guest Lauren Alaina. Up for bid are four tickets for the group’s 8 p.m. performance Aug. 31 at the American Family Insurance Amphitheatre on the Summerfest grounds. Four tickets in Sec FLOOR4, Row R, Seats 10-13 are up for grabs, along with the added bonus of $200 cash, which could be spent on gas, dinner or concert merchandise.

For Wisconsin Badgers fans, there will be items up for bid in the silent auction Sports area. Among them is a Braelon Allen autographed jersey (No. 9013), Wisconsin Thermal Tote (No. 9100) that can hold 56 cans and a Wisconsin Hardbody Cooler (No. 9099) that can hold 30 cans.

Cash, check, credit cards and debit cards will be accepted forms of payment at the in-person event.

On the auction webpage you also will find more information regarding the three raffles being offered this year — the Cash Raffle, Gravely Riding Lawnmower Raffle, and the Meat ’N Freezer Raffle. The forms for each raffle are available online, but tickets also may be purchased by stopping at Roncalli High School, or calling the Development Office at 920-686-8150.
