Seth Rogen is GQ's June Cover Star

Over matzo-ball soup and DIY ashtrays, Rogen talks about how he's survived—and thrived—in Hollywood.

Seth Rogen is not the teenager you remember from Freaks and Geeks. And while his enthusiasm for weed hasn't lessened, he's not the stoner slacker of your favorite mid-2000s comedies, either. The 37-year-old actor-writer-producer-director-businessman is one of Hollywood's biggest players, which is also why he's GQ's June/July cover star.

In the lead-up to his recently released film, Long Shot, Rogen spoke to writer Caroline McCloskey in Los Angeles about his life and entertainment career to date. That includes his trial-and-error period—getting a gig on Freaks and Geeks as a teenager and making more money than his parents, transitioning from Judd Apatow's protégé to his peer, and maneuvering past the films he regrets. (And yes, he names names.) It includes recounting of bizarre encounters with Kanye West, Paul Ryan, and Tom Cruise, and how his character in Long Shot is “an almost good-case scenario" of other cult-classic characters he's played. And it shows just how Seth Rogen's become a multi-hyphenate who's blazed (literally) his own path through Hollywood, and come out the other end with himself intact.

Not to mention an uncanny sense of newfound style, as photographed by Sebastian Mader.
