Seth Rogen Ruthlessly Criticised The 'Game Of Thrones' Finale At Comic-Con
Despite Marvel announcing somewhere between 15 and 20 new films and series this weekend, not everyone at Comic-Con was thinking about the future.
Seth Rogen spent a fair bit of his Comic-Con appearance for Preacher lobbing hand grenades at the absent Game of Thrones showrunners. David Benioff and DB Weiss decided to swerve the panel and leave the cast to it, possibly reasoning that the vitriol which met the final series from some quarters would make it quite an unpleasant experience. So, Rogen made himself a conduit for anyone frustrated by both Thrones and the lack of access to its showrunners to vent vitriol at.
"I just wanna say we're following the Game of Thrones panel, which is a f***ing nightmare, just objectively," Rogen said. "I also know that the showrunners didn't turn up, because they didn't want to answer questions about the show... I'm not one of the creators of Game of Thrones, I am the creator of other TV shows, so feel free to ask me any Game of Thrones questions you might have throughout the night."
And the audience did. Asked what he thought about the broad strokes of the ending, Rogen was pretty blunt. "I imagine those guys regret making Bran the King because, ultimately, he doesn't have the best story," he said. "[Arya] learned all that face shit, where'd it go?"
He was just as dismissive about the way that Jaime and Cersei Lannister carked it underneath the Red Keep, and agreed that it would have been a bit more satisfying to see Jaime do Cersei in himself.
"I do, honestly," he said. "You don't want to follow these people for three years and then have them die in rubble. Anti-climactic."
