Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade & Block Party

8:30 a.m., line up; 10 a.m., parade; Monday, Jan. 17. Milton High School, 5445 Stewart St., Milton. Celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the Baptist minister and activist who became the most visible spokesman and leader in the American civil rights movement from 1955 until his assassination in 1968. Jazz Gumbo: Horace Silver & Art Blakey Celebration

6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 17. Seville Quarter, 130 E. Government St. The evening features The Horace Silver & Art Blakey Jazz Trumpet Legacy, performed by Allen Beeson, trumpet; Jonathan Martin, trumpet; Cynthia Domulot, keys; Tom Latenser, bass; Fred Domulot, drums. $10 for Jazz Pensacola members and guests; $12 for non-members, free for students with ID and military in uniform. Monday Night Blues

7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 17. Seville Quarter, 130 E. Government St. Seville Quarter and the Blues Society of Northwest Florida are bringing the “blues” back to the Seville Quarter Entertainment District. THURSDAY

Seventh annual Snowbird Beach Bash

9 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 20. Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, 920 Via De Luna Drive, Pensacola Beach. The Beach Bash is a way for seasonal tourists and vacationers to meet, mingle and learn more about what’s happening on Pensacola Beach, and an excellent opportunity for the island locals and businesses to welcome guests. The event starts with a light breakfast and coffee. At 10 a.m., the Pensacola Beach Elementary School Soundpipers will take the stage to perform a short medley. At 10:15 a.m., the Perdido Performing Arts and Productions group will perform a dance number, followed by a game of Bingo with giveway prizes at 10:45 a.m. $1. More info: 850-932-2257.

Gallery Night

5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21. Downtown Pensacola. Galleries, boutiques, restaurants, and bars open their doors to the night air as visitors and locals flood the streets to enjoy music, art and cuisine. Café tables set out on brick sidewalks are the perfect place to enjoy a coffee or cocktail, as the sounds of live music and a spirited crowd fill the air. Aaron Lewis: Frayed at Both Ends - The Acoustic Tour

Matt Damon and Ben Affleck became the youngest winners of the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for their 1998 film Good Will Hunting. ‘Matt & Ben’ is a satire that depicts these Hollywood golden boys – before J-Lo, before Gwyneth, before Project Greenlight, before Oscar, before anyone cared.
