Seven Norsemen make All-HOIC in boys basketball. Roland-Story puts three on the first team

The Roland-Story boys basketball team was well-represented on the All-Heart of Iowa Conference teams after winning its third conference title in a row, including second-straight unbeaten championship in 2022-2023.

The Norsemen had seven players given All-HOIC honors by the conference coaches. They put three players on the first team, two on the second and had a pair named honorable mention.

Junior guard Jonovan Wilkinson, senior guard Isaiah Naylor and senior center Luke Patton all made the All-HOIC first team after helping Roland-Story go 14-0 in the conference for the second year in a row.

Wilkinson 15.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 2.3 steals in conference play. He shot 48.5% from the field and 63.6% from the line.

Naylor averaged 19.5 points, 2.6 assists, 2.3 rebounds and 2.0 steals. He also made 46 3-pointers and shot 44.1% from the field.

Patton averaged 9.9 points, 13.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.6 steals against the HOIC. He shot 50.4% from the field in conference play.

The other players to make the All-HOIC first team were Nevada's Jacob Khounsourath and Carson Rhodes, Greene County's Richard Daugherty and Jesse Miller and Prairie City-Monroe's Jacob Wendt.

Senior forward Ben Greenfield and junior guard Boaz Clark were the two Norsemen named to the second team. They were joined by Nevada's John Nelson, PCM's Gavin Van Gorp, Saydel's Shyne Lo and Mason Hicks, Perry's Geren Kenney and South Hamilton's Rylan Ubben.

Greenfield averaged 8.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.6 steals against HOIC foes. He shot 52.3% from the field and 66.7% from the line.

Clark hit 20 3-pointers and averaged 7.6 points, 3.1 assists and 1.7 steals off the bench. He shot 45.6% from the field and 82.4% from the line.

Senior forwards Kale Lande and Dillon Lettow were the two Norsemen named honorable mention.

Lande averaged 6.6 points and 5.5 rebounds shooting 54.3% from the field in conference games. Lettow provided a spark off the bench, averaging 6.1 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.9 assists and shooting 53.5% from the field.
