Seven puppies found in box, all had severe case of parvo

(PUEBLO, Colo.) — Seven sick puppies found in a box were brought to the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region (HSPPR) and found to have severe cases of parvovirus, unfortunately not all of them survived.

Parvovirus is a disease that attacks the vulnerable immune systems of young puppies and is potentially deadly.

Another case of Parvovirus treated by HSPPR

According to HSPPR, a good Samaritan found a box, and inside were seven sick puppies. The puppies were brought to a local rescue in Pueblo before being taken to HSPPR due to a lack of kennel space. HSPPR then learned the puppies were suffering from severe cases of parvovirus.

Unfortunately, HSPPR said three of the puppies didn’t survive treatment for the virus. The remaining four puppies named Tulip, Sigfried, Fergus, and Norbert were in intensive care for a week before testing negative.
