Several Hardee’s restaurants close across Central Illinois

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — Multiple locations of a fast food restaurant including restaurants in Champaign and Springfield have closed this week.

A spokesperson with Hardee’s confirmed several locations across the state have closed.

“This decision was not made lightly, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to our guests,” Beth Gerstenberger, Director of Corporate Communications for CKE Restaurants which owns Hardee’s, said in an email. “We appreciate our communities’ patronage and have enjoyed serving guests throughout the years.”

The spokesperson encouraged customers to use their website to find their new nearest location but declined to provide a list of closures.

While the following locations listed below remain on the company’s website as of Wednesday afternoon, according to the app customers are unable to order food from the stores online.

  • Champaign

  • Springfield at Wabash Ave.

  • Chatham

  • Virden

  • Monticello

Before the closings, Hardee’s operated 98 locations across the state.
