Several horses found slaughtered off Florida trail, report says
TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Several horses were found slaughtered in a rural area off a trail in Miami-Dade on Friday, according to NBC affiliate WTVJ.
Miami-Dade police said the three horses were found dead near Southwest 124th Avenue and Southwest 197th Avenue after being stolen overnight from a farm.

The horses were believed to have been slaughtered for their meat, police said.
WTVJ reported that one of the horses, named Paloma, was a therapy horse for mental health issues for schoolchildren and others.
