Several YMCA Tide members earn honors at swimming championship

The Monroe Family YMCA Tide Swim Team recently competed at the Toledo Summer Swim League Championship.

“All swimmers achieved personal best times, collaboratively scored 1,723 points and broke six Tide Team records,” the YMCA said.

Top performers were:

  • Boys 8 & Under Medley Relay: Xavier Ely, Evan Dowen, Miles Nowtizke and Carter Holliday

  • Boys 8 & Under Freestyle Relay: Evan Dowen, Miles Nowitzke, Xavier Ely and Carter Holliday

  • Boys 13-14 Medley Relay: Garren Hoskins, Harrison Tyner, Alec Adams and Noah Carveth --Boys 13-14 Freestyle Relay: Jayce Hay, Alec Adams, Noah Carveth and Garren Hoskins

  • Boys 15 & Over Medley Relay: Ashton Walker, Alex Apetroaei, Jayce Hay and Garrett Wall

  • Boys 15 & Over Freestyle Relay: Ashton Walker, Maxx Adams, Alex Apetroaei and Garrett Wall

  • 50 Butterfly: Grace DePalma

  • 100 Freestyle: Garrett Wall

  • Tide League Champs: Karis Beaton, Grace DePalma, Evan Dowen, Leighton Ely, Christopher Fritz and Nola Molter

The Team placed Top 3 in 26 events, including Boys 8 & Under Medley Relay, Boys 8 & Under Freestyle Relay, Boys 10 & Under Freestyle, Girls 8 & Under Medley Relay, Girls 8 & Under Freestyle Relays, Girls 10 & Under Medley Relay and Girls 10 & Under Freestyle Relay.
