Severe storms forecast for Escambia and Santa Rosa counties until about 12:30 p.m.

Strong thunderstorms are expected to impact Santa Rosa and Escambia counties

until about 12:30 p.m.

At 11:45 a.m., National Weather Service doppler radar indicated

strong thunderstorms along a line extending from Daphne, Alabama, to 5 miles

southeast of Molino. Movement was northeast at 30 mph.

Winds in excess of 30 mph may impact the area. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.

Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm, and people are urged to seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
