Severe thunderstorm warning, tornado watch issued for Delaware

Brief tornados and damaging wind gusts are possible Saturday afternoon, according to NWS.

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning and tornado watch Saturday afternoon that covers parts of Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. A thunderstorm warning is in effect for New Castle and Kent counties in Delaware until 7:45 p.m. A tornado watch is in effect New Castle, Kent and Sussex counties until 7:30.

In Delaware, the National Weather Service said winds of 20 and 30 miles per hour are also possible. Delaware Beaches also are included in the wind advisory.
