Weather: Thunderstorms that developed through the day Thursday will continue sagging south and east through the overnight hours.

Some lingering severe weather is possible in far eastern Ontario between Kingston and Cornwall, but the rest of the storms should remain below severe limits.

These storms will produce heavy rainfall, gusty winds, and vivid lightning as they push east into the overnight hours. It’ll make for tricky nighttime driving for sure, but it’s sure to bring some excellent sleeping weather if you’re soothed by the sound of rumbling thunder.

Weather: While conditions will improve significantly across southern Ontario on Friday, we’ll still see some isolated thunderstorms lingering throughout the region.

It’ll take a little longer for calmer conditions to prevail in southern Quebec, where a chance for scattered thunderstorms will persist through the day. Some of those storms over the Eastern Townships could turn severe, packing strong wind gusts, small hail, and heavy rainfall.

If a severe thunderstorm approaches your location, remain mindful of trees or tree limbs that loom near your home. Trees falling into buildings are a significant source of injury during strong storms. Try to avoid rooms where trees may cause damage during high winds.

The greatest danger in any thunderstorm is lightning. If you can hear thunder, you’re close enough to be struck by lightning.
