Severe Winds Down Trees and Power Lines Near Columbus

A line of thunderstorms brought lightning and damaging winds to Franklin County, Ohio, on Monday, July 27, local media reported.

Storms packing wind gusts of 50 mph passed over the northwestern Ohio area on Monday afternoon, the National Weather Service reported. A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for the area into the early evening.

Reports said that over 1,000 customers were without power as a result of the storm.
