Sewer maintenance project extended to Wednesday

Jan. 24—A Decatur Utilities contractor had to add another day to a sewer maintenance project that's requiring the closure of the turn lane of Eighth Street Southwest between Second Avenue and Central Parkway.

The project, which began Tuesday, will pick up again at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday. The contractor plans to finish at about noon.

While the turn lane is closed, both travel lanes will remain open while the contractor performs maintenance on a section of sewer main.
