A trailer has dropped for a new, intense ITV medical thriller called Malpractice starring Sex Education's James Purefoy and Raised by Wolves actor Niamh Algar.

The five-part series will follow Dr Lucinda Edwards (Niamh Algar), an experienced doctor, on a shift from hell that culminates in the death of an opioid overdose victim, Edith Owusu.

Although Edwards has a supportive medical supervisor, Dr Leo Harris (James Purefoy), the grieving father of the victim, Sir Anthony Owusu (Brian Bovell), orders an investigation into Edwards' efforts to treat his daughter.
