Sex/Life's Sarah Shahi talks working with real-life boyfriend on the show

Sex/Life star Sarah Shahi has opened up about working on the show alongside her real-life boyfriend, Adam Demos.
Shahi stars in the hit Netflix show as Billie Connelly, a suburban mother who takes a trip down memory lane while also trying to balance family life.
In season one of the show, Shahi's character discovered a spark between herself and Brad Simon (Adam Demos), a former flame.
While their romance has been tumultuous onscreen, to say the least, Shahi and Demos' relationship in real life blossomed and the pair became an item.

Appearing on The Jennifer Hudson Show this week, Shahi opened up about working alongside Demos on Sex/Life and how it makes her job easier.
"I feel lucky because I kind of take myself out of the situation and I have a bird's eye view of myself and him working together," Shahi said. "It makes my job so much easier because if it's a love scene or it's a fight scene or whatever it is, all I have to do is look at him and the words become real.
"It's almost like an experiment. It's a privilege to be able to work with the person you love and also, your characters are simulating real-life things as well. It actually makes my job a little bit easier. I don't have to pretend, which is nice!"
Demos also recently spoke to People about what he loves most about Shahi: "Her heart. That's first and foremost. Her kindness. It's everything. I'm her biggest fan for sure, so that would be the third one – everything. I think she's exceptional in all aspects of life."

Shahi recently signed on to a new project fronting and producing a legal drama called Judgement.
As reported by Deadline, the show comes from former Charmed showrunner Joey Falco with Shahi starring as a woman named Mia Bahari, who she will play in two different eras. The format of the show features her in the year 2038 looking back at her time in the present day as she is interviewed for a place on the Supreme Court.
