Sex offender accused of exposing self to children at Las Vegas airport

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A non-compliant sex offender allegedly exposed himself to children at Las Vegas’ Harry Reid International Airport and later defecated on the property, documents said.

On Jan. 18, two employees alerted police that a man, later identified as Elliot Dew, “had pulled his pants down in front of [children]” near an airport door, documents said.

Officers in the airport began looking for Dew, later finding him inside a terminal, documents said.

While speaking to Dew, officers noted he had defecated on the ground, they said.

“Officers went to make contact with Dew and he grabbed his pants and tried to walk out of the door,” police said. In response to a question about the defecation, “Dew stated it was an accident.”

Dew, a nine-time felon with a history of incident exposure convictions, was previously trespassed from the airport, police said.

Last December, police ordered Dew not to return to airport property after they cited him for damaging a car, documents said.

Dew faces new charges of trespass, engaging in lewd or dissolute conduct in a public place and violating airport regulations.

Though he had many prior convictions, records show he was released from custody before he even saw a judge and was due to return to court in March.
