Sex trafficking bust rescues 26 endangered children in Georgia, leads to 9 arrests

Authorities in Georgia located 39 missing children in the past two weeks, rescuing 26 who were in danger of being trafficked for sex, U.S. marshals announced in a press release.

Of those 26, 15 had already been victims of sex trafficking, the Atlanta Journal Constitution reported. The 39 children were all between the ages of 3 and 17.

Nine people were arrested in the two-week sex trafficking investigation, dubbed “Operation Not Forgotten.” Authorities searched 20 counties around Atlanta for the missing kids, according to local ABC affiliate WSB.

U.S. Marshals said the 26 endangered kids were given that designation based on several risk factors.
