SF Bay Area 4th Of July Fireworks: Your 2020 Guide To Events

SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA, CA — Independence Day celebrations will look decidedly different this year, as COVID-19 concerns have spurred cancellations of most annual, July 4th parades, carnivals and fireworks extravaganzas throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.

More events are canceled than scheduled, to be sure. But there are a smattering of live fireworks shows — to date, Patch could confirm Fourth of July displays in Gilroy and Cloverdale. And both of those are planned with in-person, viewing restrictions for health-and-safety purposes.

Several communities, meanwhile, are getting creative with aerial flyover salutes, limited parade routes, home-decorating contests, patriotic, online activities or virtual fireworks programming.

Scroll through the list, and see what's going on near you. Stay safe, and have a Happy Fourth of July, from Patch!
