Shades of Success: New calendar, event honor women of color from Louisiana
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Women of color in Louisiana are getting their flowers in a new calendar.
African-American journalists Valentina Wilson and Virnado Woods of V Squared Visuals created the Shades of Success 2024 Calendar. It honors a dozen women from multiple career fields. You can buy the calendar for $20 now at www.theshadesofsuccess.net.
Some calendar proceeds will be donated to Women Working with Women Empowerment- 4WE, according to a news release from V Squared Visuals.
A banquet on Saturday, Feb. 24 at Drusilla’s Seafood Restaurant also will honor the nominees. Ticket prices start at $75. They can be purchased on the group’s website.

Dr. Ashley Cesar, U.S. Army major and board-certified adult psychiatrist.
Anne Arceneaux, author and education TV technology specialist.
