During the night on Jan. 7, a Russian Shahed suicide drone struck a decommissioned recreation base in Mykolaiv Oblast, regional governor Vitalii Kim reported on Telegram.

Air defense forces in Mykolaiv downed five Shaheds during the attack, but one slipped through Ukrainian defenses, starting a fire at the decommissioned base.

Simultaneously, in Kirovohrad Oblast, debris from a downed drone damaged a house and a power line.

Fortunately, no casualties were reported in either incident.

Russians launched 28 Shaheds at Ukraine overnight, according to the Ukrainian Air Force. Air defense forces successfully downed 21 of them.

Air defenses systems were reported to have been operating in Zaporizhzhya, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, Vinnytsia, and Cherkasy oblasts.

One of the drones struck a residential building in Dnipro city, housing 22 families. There were no reported injuries.
