Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scores 2,000th point as Thunder player

On Thursday night, Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored his 2,000th career point as a member of Oklahoma City.

Gilgeous-Alexander entered the game against the San Antonio Spurs with 1,995 points over his 99 games in a Thunder uniform. He hit his fifth point on a free throw at the end of the first quarter.

The third-year guard, in his second season with the Thunder, was averaging 22.9 points per game this year entering Thursday. He has increased his scoring averages in all three seasons, posting 10.8 as a rookie with the Los Angeles Clippers and 19.0 last season.

According to FOX Sports Oklahoma, Gilgeous-Alexander became the third-quickest player to reach 2,000 points in a Thunder jersey in team history. He did so in his 100th game.

Against the Spurs, was doing a good job of finishing difficult shots down low.

The Thunder are looking to beat the Spurs in their final game of the first half of the season. This is the third game between the two teams this season, and both have won one apiece entering Thursday.
