Shake Shack Is Donating Proceeds From Its New Shrimp Burger To The AAPI Community

Shake Shack is teaming up with Michelin-starred chef Junghyun “JP” Park and his team at the restaurant Atoboy. The collaboration is part of Shake Shack's Now Serving series and features an exclusive shrimp burger that will be available for one day only.

The Atoburger features a shrimp burger topped with a crispy hash brown, Atoboy’s famous Grenada pepper sauce, shaved red onions, and butter lettuce all stacked on a toasted potato bun. This is the second time Shake Shack has ever offered seafood on its menu. Chef Junghyun Park's Atoboy restaurant offers Korean-inspired foods which was the idea for this burger as shrimp burgers have seen a rise in popularity in Korea.

Shake Shack's Now Serving campaign is a series of collaborations with well-known well-chefs and restaurateurs. The partnerships include the creation of special menu items that are available for a limited time around the United States and a portion of sales from the items benefit nonprofits that help the restaurant community.

Sales from the Atoburger will go toward Heart of Dinner, a non-profit that supports Asian restaurants and helps to combat food insecurity and isolation within New York City’s elderly Asian American community. It's more important than ever to support the AAPI community as they have faced particular discrimination and violence during the ongoing pandemic. Heart of Dinner is just one of the many AAPI-focused organizations that you can donate to.

The Atoburger will be available for today only at the Shake Shack location in Madison Square Park in New York City. It's priced at $7.49 and is available for purchase in-store, through pickup on Shake Shack’s website, or delivery and pickup via the Shack app in the Madison Square Park Delivery zone.
