The American version of Shameless is soon to begin its 10th season, and broadcaster Showtime has released a first-look trailer showing how the Gallagher family are coping now that Fiona (Emmy Rossum) has left Chicago.

Unsurprisingly, they aren't coping well at all.

As we see from the trailer, Frank (William H Macy) is still Frank, for lack of a better word, remaining dishevelled, drinking heavily, and unable to assert any sort of control over his crazy family.

Meanwhile, Debbie (Emma Kenney) has put herself in charge of the house and is ruling with an iron fist and Lip (Jeremy Allen White) is struggling with new parenthood – and the lack of sleep and stress that comes with it.

We also see the return of Ian (Cameron Monaghan) who is back for season 10 after previously scaling back his tole on the show to focus on Gotham. We see that he is in prison with his first love, Mickey (Noel Fisher), but being together in such an enclosed environment puts a strain on their relationship, and Ian says they need to take a break.

Can't imagine that is going to make things any better between them.

White previously talked about Rossum's departure, stating: "She's never going to be replaced; we're just gonna have to figure out how to work it without her.

"As sad as I am to lose Emmy as an acting partner, it's kind of exciting because it’s gonna be a different show; it'll mix things up."

Shameless will return to Showtime in the US on November 10. Netflix airs the show in the UK.
