Shamrocks on Main Street

Mar. 18—Sierra Marling

Main Street was once again flooded with green for St. Patrick's Day at Paddy Wagon Irish Pub.

Patrons were able to dine on traditional Irish fare, such as Irish beef stew, corned beef and cabbage, and shepherd's pie while drinking green beer and donning shamrocks. The Paddy Wagon treated guests to Irish music, including Zach Barnett on the bagpipes, before turning over to a traditional Top 40 playlist at night.

The event has steadily grown since the COVID-19 shutdowns in 2020, when owners of the Irish pub were told just one day before their biggest day of the year that they would be required to shut their doors.

The $28,000 celebration this year seemingly eclipsed the troubles happening outside the door with celebratory dress, smiles, and laughter in a sea of green.

"We're glad to be open and glad to have people back," said co-owner Silas Smith.
