With a disclosure filing deadline approaching as questions swirl around his use of campaign funds, embattled Rep. George Santos' campaign appears to be left without a treasurer. On Wednesday, several fundraising committees associated with the freshman congressman from New York filed amendments to their statements of organizations, notifying the Federal Election Commission of a new treasurer. "On Monday, we informed the Santos campaign that Mr. Datwyler would not be serving as treasurer," Datwyler's attorney Derek Ross told ABC News.

New campaign disclosures from embattled Rep. George Santos suggest that at least $625,000 in campaign loans he had previously reported as self-funded might not be sourced from his "personal funds." Campaign finance experts say Santos, R-N.Y., may be violating campaign finance laws by not properly disclosing the original sources of those loans. In a series of amendments filed on Tuesday, Santos marked two loans that he had previously reported as loans from himself -- $500,000 from March 2022 and $125,000 from October 2022 -- as not from "personal funds from the candidate."

Funk, a Democrat, was the Flint Township clerk in 2020 with responsibility over elections.

U.S. Rep. George Santos’ campaign committee told federal regulators Wednesday that it had hired a new treasurer amid lingering questions about the source of his wealth and irregularities in the committee's financial reports. The man Santos supposedly hired said he actually turned the job down. The man who declined the job, Thomas Datwyler, said through a lawyer that there appeared to be some sort of miscommunication.
The Republican National Committee has triggered anger, protests and a reckoning in a party that must choose between Donald Trump and its own future.
I've covered many admirable Republicans, and today's GOP still has some. But it's too risky to support them when their party is on such a dark path.
On Tuesday, the prosecutor in the state of Georgia spoke to a judge on behalf of a special grand jury empanelled in May to investigate Trump's alleged efforts to influence that state's 2020 election results. Fani Willis, the Fulton County district attorney and a Democrat who will ultimately decide whether to pursue charges against Trump or anyone else, said the grand jury had completed its task and decisions were "imminent." Trump asked Raffensperger to "find" enoughvotes needed to overturn Trump's election loss in Georgia.

A video of Nigerian campaign posters featuring political rivals Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi as presidential running mates has spread confusion and sparked misleading claims in the lead-up to the election in February. AFP Fact Check found that the posters date back to the 2019 ballot before Obi defected from Abubakar’s ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the Labour camp. Abubakar’s actual running mate in the 2023 ballot is Delta State governor Ifeanyi Okowa. Obi, meanwhile, has entered the

Full Story: https://wfts.tv/3kLUgwM Five months after Florida Governor Ron DeSantis proudly announced his new election crimes and security office had nabbed nearly 20 former felons for illegally voting in the 2020 election, four of those cases have been dismissed, one resulted in a plea deal with a small fine and, we’ve discovered, the election security office he took credit for, barely has anyone on its employee roster. In an office organizational chart we obtained from the Department of State, the number of vacant positions currently in the office far outnumbers employees on its payroll.
