Russell Brand's disrespect for Rod Stewart condemned by Sharon Osbourne

Russell Brand's disrespect for musical megastars Rod Stewart and Bob Geldof has been slammed by Sharon Osbourne.

The comedian remains ever-present in the worldwide consciousness thanks to his alleged sexual conduct, but it was Brand's previous remarks concerning Kimberley Stewart and Boomtown Rats vocalist Geldof that drew Osbourne's attention while appearing on Piers Morgan's TalkTV show this weekend.

"The only thing I can say about Russell Brand, is the two things I don't like, was when he spoke about… one of them is a very good friend of ours, Kimberley Stewart, about what he had done to Kimberley Stewart in front of her father. And then he did the same with Sir Bob Geldof.

"You just don't do that to people's families, when that father is in the room," she continued.

"He's done it twice now and that's the thing that sticks with me."

Osbourne, who's been married to Black Sabbath rocker Ozzy Osbourne for over four decades, was partly referring to Brand's behaviour at the 2006 edition of GQ's Man of the Year awards.

"Here's to Rod Stewart who had a go at me earlier this year for too much womanising. But then again I did have a go on his daughter," he said on stage, which caused a bit of commotion later on that evening.

'Maggie May' singer Stewart confronted Brand by ordering him to stand up. "You went with my daughter, did you? Did you behave yourself?" he asked, with the subdued Forgetting Sarah Marshall star responding: "I never touched that girl".

"F****** right, you didn't. You mustn't come up here and boast. I speak here as a father," was Stewart's final flourish.

Meanwhile, at the NME Awards that same year, Brand decided to introduce Geldof as "Sir Bobby Gandalf", following a reported romance with the Irishman's daughter Peaches, who passed away in 2014.

"Russell Brand... what a c***!" declared Geldof to much applause.
