Sharon Osbourne's replacement on The Talk is announced

Jerry O'Connell has been confirmed as The Talk's new panelist.
O'Connell has been a guest host on the daytime talk show for a number of months, but it was recently announced that he is now a permanent member of the panel. He will be replacing Sharon Osbourne, who quit The Talk earlier this year after a discussion about race with her former co-anchor Sheryl Underwood.
The US panel show was temporarily taken off air while an investigation was carried out – however, Osbourne made the decision to quit the show.

O'Connell is the newest addition to the panel and will soon join his co-hosts Elaine Welteroth, Amanda Kloots and Underwood. Elsewhere, Carrie Ann Inaba has taken a leave of absence from the show.
During a recent episode, O'Connell said: "It's fun, and it works, and we're going to have a lot of fun."
The new co-star of The Talk also posted a video on Instagram to share the announcement, with an excited caption: "Proud to be on this team. Let's go have some fun on @thetalkcbs."

Welteroth commented underneath the Instagram post, sharing a thoughtful and welcoming message to her new co-anchor, saying that The Talk production was "lucky" to have him and added that she was "looking forward" to working with him.
"LET'S GOOOO @mrjerryoc. We adore you and are so lucky to have your unmatched energy, your charm, and your squirmy, gyrating, Zaddy bAwdy in that chair! You make us laugh every day! Looking forward to going on this ride with you by our side."
The Talk airs on CBS in the US.
