UPDATE: Missing 80-year-old Cottonwood man found safe in Napa: Shasta County Sheriff

An 80-year-old Cottonwood man missing since Dec. 14 was found on Friday, according to the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office.

Napa County Sheriff’s deputies in Yountville found Monte Satran safe and in good health, according to Shasta County Sheriff's Public Information Officer Tim Mapes.

Satran's family are on their way to see him, Mapes said in a press release issued Friday afternoon.

The sheriff's office thanked the public, California Highway Patrol officers and the Lake and Napa County Sheriff’s Offices for help find Satran, Mapes said in the announcement.

The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public's help finding an elderly Cottonwood man, missing since Thursday, Dec. 14.

Monte Satran, 80, has dementia, according to an announcement issued Friday morning by sheriff's office spokesman Tim Mapes.

He was last seen at 8:30 p.m. driving away from his home on Frances Street in Cottonwood. He vehicle is a bronze 2011 Kia Optima with a California license plate number 6RXS728, according to Mapes.

Satran is 5 feet, 10 inches tall, and weighs approximately 160 pounds. He has gray hair and brown eyes. He was likely wearing "a black NRA hat, a canvas jacket, flannel shirt, blue jeans and brown boots," Mapes said in the announcement.

Glenn County law enforcement officers reported Satran recently used his debit card at a Willows gas station, but they don't know in which direction he traveled after he left the station, Mapes said.

The California Highway Patrol issued a Silver Alert for Shasta, Glenn, Colusa and Yolo counties, according to Mapes.

The sheriff's office asked that anyone who sees Satran call 911 immediately.
