Shawn Mendes Accidentally Took a Tumble After Posing for a Shirtless Photo on Instagram

We all know that things aren’t always as they seem on social media — and Shawn Mendes just pointed that out in a lighthearted new post.

In an Instagram shared on Friday, January 21, Shawn poses for a shirtless photo while on a hike in sunny Los Angeles. In the next slide, however, he included a little behind-the-scenes look into snapping the shot. In the video, he smiles and flexes his muscles quickly, but as he turns to continue down the trail, he instantly slips and falls.

Shawn hilariously layered John Mayer’s “Gravity” over the short clip, but his friends can still be heard giggling in the background.

“I guess that’s what I get,” he captioned the post.

Realizing that he was OK, fans and fellow artists could not help but tease him a little in the comments. “King of falling after thirst trapping,” one user wrote, while singer-songwriter JP Saxe penned, “how dare los angeles.”

All in all, it seems like Shawn took the spill in good stride (ha ha).
