Shawnee Co. Sheriff’s Office hires citizen advocate

TOPEKA (KSNT) – The Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office announced it is hiring a new citizen advocate coordinator: Christina Stevenson.

Stevenson previously worked at the Shawnee County District Attorney’s Office as a victim-witness coordinator. As a citizen advocate coordinator, she will:

  • provide support services to crime victims, survivors and co-victims.

  • support and service referrals for crime victims, witnesses, survivors and co-victims who are experiencing mental or emotional trauma.

  • assist in educating and the exercise of victim rights.

  • maintain statistical records and analysis of crime victim services.

  • act as a liaison with victim advocate groups, clinical service providers, community outreach services and law enforcement personnel.

Stevenson will be available Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office. She can be reached at 785-251-2323 or through email at christina.stevenson@snco.us.
