Shawnee County lawn mower theft leads to narcotics arrest

TOPEKA (KSNT) – Two adults from Topeka have been arrested after a lawn mower theft led to a narcotics discovery, according to the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office.

Around 4 p.m. on February 27th the Shawnee County Emergency Communications Center was notified of two lawn mower thefts in 300 block of SE Baldwin Road, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

A deputy with the Sheriff’s Office found the suspect’s vehicle, recovered the lawnmowers and found narcotics during the investigation.

As a result of the investigation, two Topekans were arrested and booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on the following charges:

  • Possession of methamphetamine

  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

  • Criminal trespass

  • Theft

  • Felony interference with law enforcement

  • Misdemeanor interference with law enforcement

  • Identity theft

  • Operating a motor vehicle without a valid license

The investigation is still ongoing at this point in time.
