Shawnee resident celebrates 100th birthday

Longtime Shawnee resident Ted Tyler celebrated his 100th birthday Nov. 1, surrounded by family and friends. He was born in 1921 and has lived in Shawnee since the early 1950s, and worked as an engineer for OG&E. Tyler, a Veteran WWII pilot, retired from OG&E in 1978 after 30 years of service.
