Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni visited Ukraine and met with Ukrainian superstar band Antytila to mark the second anniversary of the full-scale invasion, the musicians wrote on Instagram.

"She starts her morning with news about Ukraine, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni admitted during the visit of the Ukrainian President to Italy six months ago,” the group wrote.

“She also sang the chorus of the song Fortress Bakhmut, which she fell in love with at the festival in San Remo and became a fan of Antytila's music."

Meloni presented the band's frontman, Taras Topolia, with an award inscribed with the Italian phrase “Daremo Anima e corpo per la nostra liberta” (“we give our soul and body for our freedom”.

The band also presented the Prime Minister with a gift - a vinyl record player with their songs, including Fortress Bakhmut.

"Italian iron + Ukrainian bravery = an invincible combination," Antytila added.
