Shear entertainment: Indy Black hair show to feature hair wars, music and classes

A Black hair show taking place at the Madam Walker Legacy Center is just as much for consumers looking for new products and beauty tips as it is for professionals looking for the latest to grow their businesses.

A centerpiece of the Indy Hair Show Extravaganza, Sept. 16-17, is a hair stylist battle and a concert; but the weekend offers folks a chance to learn about nail designs, skincare and haircare — from natural to chemically relaxed to extensions.

The Hair Wars Beyond the Galaxy stylist and barber competition is Saturday night, along with a concert featuring Alaina Renae, Bashiri Asad and Staci McCrackin.

Daytime hours, though, are given over to classes, panel discussions, demonstrations and beauty product vendors.

Financial and real estate professionals will be on hand as well, doling out tips for individuals and businesses.
