SHEBOYGAN - Sheboygan County students, parents, teachers, school staff and administrators: What are your top concerns heading into this school year?

For many school districts, this will be the first school year since 2020 that won’t be preceded by contentious meetings to implement a COVID-19 protocol.

But post-pandemic, students are struggling with learning gaps, mental health and behavioral problems.

Meanwhile, public school budgets in Wisconsin are stretched by inflation and stagnant revenue. Schools continue to struggle with shortages of staff, such as therapists and teachers.

Media coverage of school shootings and an increase of gun violence on school grounds increase anxiety about students’ safety at school.

Curriculum concerns and clashes over diversity, equity and inclusion increased attention to school board races last spring.

Are these, or other, issues on the top of mind for Sheboygan County residents? We want to hear from you!
