SHEBOYGAN - One Michigan Avenue resident has been displaced after fire crews fought a fire at a home on Monday afternoon, the Sheboygan Fire Department said.

First responders were dispatched to the home around 5 p.m. Monday and found a fire engulfing the garage and the rear of the house. One resident escaped from the second floor, the fire department said.

Fire crews battled the blaze for three hours until the fire was extinguished, containing the fire to the garage and rear of the house.

No personnel were injured, but the house is estimated to be a total loss, the fire department said.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
