SHEBOYGAN — The 31st annual Sheboygan Jaycees Holiday Parade will step off at 5 p.m. Nov. 26 downtown.

This year’s theme is “Welcome to Whoville” with participants showing their creativity with their “Grinchy-ist” celebration.

The parade begins at Center Avenue and Seventh Street, heads north on Seventh to Erie Avenue, then west on Erie to Eighth Street, then south on Eighth and ending at Mead Public Library.

The Girl Scouts will collect donations of paper supplies and personal hygiene items from spectators along the parade route. Those items will be given to Safe Harbor of Sheboygan County and Bridgeway.

The U.S. Postal Service will also walk in the parade and collect letters to be sent to Santa. Those sending letters should include name and mailing address so Santa can send a response.

After the parade, there will be a tree-lighting ceremony at the library, 710 N. Eighth St., that will also include the awarding of prizes to the top three non-profit entries and the top three corporate entries in the parade.

Organizations and businesses can register to participate in the parade through Nov. 17 online at sheboyganjaycees.com/holidayparade.

The Pop 2000 Tour coming to Sheboygan in June

Chris Kirkpatrick, founding member of NSYNC, will bring The Pop 2000 Tour to Sheboygan’s Weill Center for the Performing Arts at 7:30 p.m. June 7. Tickets for the show went on sale Nov. 9.

The Pop 2000 Tour features host Kirkpatrick, who will introduce the audience to a catalog of legendary boy band bangers from the early 2000s. O-Town, Ryan Cabrera and LFO will join Kirkpatrick on stage to transport the audience back in time to the 2000s as they perform their original hits and some of the most popular songs of the decade.

Kirkpatrick is an American singer, dancer, actor and voice actor best known for his work as a founding member of the pop group NSYNC.

O-Town’s story began in 1999 when “Making the Band” chronicled the rise of success of O-Town through three seasons of series on both ABC and MTV. The group’s first two full-length albums included No. 1 singles “Liquid Dreams” and “All or Nothing” and the Top 40 hit “We Fit Together.”

Ryan Cabrera is the singer and songwriter behind smashes such as “On the Way Down” and “Shine On,” as well as albums including 2004’s “Take It All Away,” which hit No. 8 on the Billboard Top 200. He was also featured on MTV’s “Ashlee Simpson Show” and “The Hills.”

LFO burst onto the scene in 1999 with the No. 1 hit “Summer Girls.” They followed with another top-five hit in “Girl on TV” and the Top 10 hit “Every Other Time.” Lone surviving member Brad Fischetti keeps the name LFO alive, performing the songs to fans.

Tickets to the show can be ordered at weillcenter.com, by phone at 920-208-3243 or in person at the Weill Center box office, 826 N. Eighth St., between noon and 4 p.m. Tuesdays-Fridays or one hour prior to events.

Blood drives set at Sheboygan Trades and Labor Hall

American Red Cross will hold local blood drives at Sheboygan Trades and Labor Hall, 1104 Wisconsin Ave., Sheboygan, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 17 and 24 and Dec. 1 and 8.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the film “Elf,” and create holiday cheer, all who give Nov. 10-30 will receive an exclusive pair of “Elf” + Red Cross socks, while supplies last. For more details, visit RedCrossBlood.org/Elf.

The Red Cross said donations are critical to the blood supply as the holiday season draws near — a time when blood donations often decline. Donors of all blood types are urged to give, especially type O blood donors and those giving platelets.

Those wishing to help patients receive lifesaving transfusions can book a blood or platelet donation appointment by using the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting RedCrossBlood.org or calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
