SHEBOYGAN — John Michael Kohler Arts Center has received a two-year grant totaling $500,000 from Mellon Foundation to support general operations.

In 2024, the grant will support the 50th anniversary celebration of the center’s Arts/Industry residency program, according to a news release announcing the grant.

Through a series of exhibitions and immersive experiences in related programs, JMKAC will showcase the dedication of industrial artisans as well as past and present artists-in-residence.

“We are grateful to the Mellon Foundation for its generosity,” said Amy Horst, center director, in the release. “The funds will strengthen our ability to create dynamic connections between the public and artists through our exhibitions, programming and collection.”

In December 2023, JMKAC announced the 12 new artists selected for the 2024 residency program.
