Sheboygan police arrest suspect after gas station robbed at knifepoint by masked man

SHEBOYGAN - A 38-year-old Watertown man has been arrested on suspicion of armed robbery after a gas station clerk reported being robbed at knifepoint by a masked man Wednesday evening.

Sheboygan police said in a news release that officers responded at around 7:10 p.m. Wednesday to the report of an armed robbery at a gas station in the 1500 block of South Eighth Street.

The release said a gas station clerk reported a masked man, armed with a knife, demanded money from the store and then fled after receiving cash from the clerk. No one was hurt.

Officers set up a perimeter and completed a neighborhood canvas. They then identified a suspect after review of surveillance video of the incident. The suspect was taken into custody around 11 p.m. Wednesday.
