Sheboygan's holiday light show is open at Evergreen Park. Here are the hours and cost, plus more news in weekly dose.

SHEBOYGAN - Making Spirits Bright and Sheboygan County Food Bank, in coordination with the Rotary Club of Sheboygan, are partnering on the 11th annual Making Spirits Bright drive-through holiday light show at Evergreen Park, 3030 Calumet Drive.

The show opened Nov. 25 and runs every night from 5 to 9 p.m. through Dec. 31 (except Christmas Eve, when the show is closed).

Admission is free, but visitors are asked to donate nutritious, unexpired and non-perishable food items. Healthy cereals, peanut butter and canned fruit (without added sugar) that do not expire until at least March 2023 are some of the food bank's most needed items, a news release said.

All donated food is delivered to SCFB nightly by volunteers. SCFB’s team distributes food to pantries and other agencies that serve people who need emergency food.

Besides nutritious food, visitors can also donate personal care items like shampoo, soap, toothpaste, deodorant, tissue, toilet paper, diapers and baby wipes.

Monetary donations can also be made to Making Spirits Bright at the completion of the drive-through route. The funds support the building, maintenance, storage and refurbishing of displays and other costs associated with the light show. The organization also typically provides an annual grant to SCFB for a specific need.
