New Sheetz opens on Erie's west side
A new Sheetz location opened Thursday at 3814 Liberty St. and offered free coffee and soda through midnight. Starting at 8 a.m., customers could buy gas, freshly made food and have a chance to win prizes, including gift cards for $250 and one for $2,500.
"We're excited to open up our first store in the city of Erie," said Rob Fajohn, district manager. "Erie County has been very good to us."

The new addition makes six Sheetz locations in Erie County:

750 Peninsula Drive
3814 Liberty St.
8180 Perry Highway
5930 Route 6N, Edinboro
331 W. Central Ave., Titusville
18425 Smock Highway, Meadville
16590 Conneaut Lake Road, Meadville
315 Water St., Conneaut Lake
Grand opening ceremonies took place between 9 and 11 a.m., including a ribbon cutting and collection of nonperishable items for the Second Harvest Food Bank. To celebrate the opening, the company is making $2,500 donations to Second Harvest as well as Special Olympics.
Sheetz operates 667 locations in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio and Maryland.
