VANPORT TWP. ― Those weren't just shrumors: Sheetz intends to open one of its convenience stores in the township.

"Sheetz can confirm that it is planning to build a store along State Avenue, at the site of a former used car dealership and vehicle rental agency," Nick Ruffner, P.R. manager for Sheetz, said.

That proposed site would be at the former Enterprise car rental center and used car lot for Nick Crivelli Chevrolet, a mile from the Route 376 exit, in Vanport Township.

A target date for construction has not been announced. Permits would need to be approved by Vanport officials.
